It is a high time to look at my dividend income in 2016.

Well, as you know I have just started building my portfolio, so do not expect millions of USD :) Also keep in mind, that for example I bought CAH too late to get any dividend in 2016. Brief summary is presented below:

DIVIDENDS 2016

No. Company Jan. Feb. Mar. Apr. May June July Aug. Sept. Oct. Nov. Dec. total
1 WMT $16.17 $16.50 $16.50 $16.50 $65.67
2 ADM $17.40 $17.40 $17.40 $17.40 $69.60
3 AAPL $11.97 $11.97 $11.97 $35.91
4 BEN $10.80 $10.80 $21.60
5 GILD $13.16 $13.16
6 CAH $0.00

Altogether it gives $205.94 in gross dividends, which is not a bad result.

For now 2017 dividends are not known. I hope they will increase as financial situation of portfolio companies is good. How much I expect for the next year?

Assuming value of portfolio of around 14 300 and expected dividend yield 2.5% gives around $350 in gross dividends. I see some upside coming from:

  • new purchases
  • special dividends, I expect special dividend in BEN

Summing up, everything is going well and I hope that every single year I will see an increase in dividends received!
